Your Perfect Pokémon Legends: Z-A Super Form Based on the Zodiac Sign
This return of Super Forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked widespread excitement across the fandom. Starting with the one-by-one unveiling of fresh additions before the game's launch, to trainers forming strong opinions on the full lineup of Mega Evolutions, there's plenty for fans to anticipate.
With many of the Super Forms showcasing distinctive designs that highlight their traits, one idea came to mind: How can connect this with zodiac signs? The following is based on a mix of intuition, sign stereotypes, and personal experience.
Aries – Super Camerupt
Honestly, Houndoom was nearly chosen for Aries, as they are the Super Form and zodiac symbol that evoke the greatest apprehension. But, a Mega Houndoom appears as constantly furious, which doesn't match the Aries vibe, renowned for being playful, light-hearted, and spontaneous. That's why the Ram much more similar to Mega Camerupt, which solely erupts when provoked. Remain on the friendly side of either and enjoy a powerful partner; if you cross them, prepare to face the consequences.
The Bull – Super Heracross
Much like a devoted Bull, the reliable Heracross, both in its standard and Super Form, has aided many players in Legends: Z-A. Though dependable, both the Pokémon and a Bull are also battle-oriented, and – be it their trainer or a firm belief – will stand up for their position unwaveringly. The thing about Mega Heracross that recalls most of my Taurus friends, though, is its unabashed passion for snacks. Many previous Pokédex entries note their craving for tasty sap and how it uses its horn to collect it everything, which is true Bull-sign vibe.
The Twins – Super Medicham
Observe this total royalty. It's impossible to tell me this creature is not the life of every party, offering an constant stream of chatter to anyone who wants to listen. Just like an enrapturing, sociable Twins, it's very simple to imagine Super Medicham captivating an entire open area with their tales. This Pokémon's official description also states its capacity to foresee an enemy’s next moves, which sounds quite like a people-smart Gemini.
Cancer – Mega Manectric
The Crab is widely regarded as the most emotional sign of the zodiac, a passionate symbol famous for often becoming absorbed in their feelings. Per the official info, Mega Evolution charges the creature with a “tremendous amount of electricity, but it's too much for this Pokémon to fully manage,” which sounds a lot like a classic Crab crash-out. It is also known for its ability to create a storm cloud over its own head – and if there’s a single trait a Cancer is likely to do, it’s rain on their own parade.
Leo – Super Starmie
Well, did you assume I was going to select the lion Pokémon for the lion of the zodiac? Aside from the reality that it would be far too on the nose, Leo is obviously Super Starmie, the star whose legs just went viral for being extremely glamorous (or terrifying, depending on your preference). Players were captivated from the purple starfish, and that’s precisely the same energy a Lion offers to the table. Starmie is also rumored to be broadcasting signals from its center out into the cosmos, and it’s just like a Lion to be staging a performance, even if for aliens.
Virgo – Mega Victreebel
The always-ready and constantly-worried Maiden is ideally encapsulated in Super Victreebel, the Mega with perpetual acid reflux. The sign famous for being endearingly critical is strongly reflected across this creature's entire lineage, from a perpetually shocked expression like a Maiden when you tell them you lack a retirement plan, to its upside-down face that’s just like the symbol a Maiden posts to the group chat when all says they want to “go with the flow” rather than making a strategy.
The Scales – Super Audino
Look at this sweet, empathetic being, who employs the sensors on its ears to tell how people are feeling by their heartbeat. Consistently compassionate – occasionally to a detriment – and striving to maintain the peace, there are many Scales who would probably benefit from Mega Audino’s abilities. Though, to be frank, it would probably just cause them to stress even more about others.
Scorpio – Mega Banette
This Ghost-type is a creature with a unexpectedly sad origin: Discarded as a toy, it became consciousness through pure resentment and vowed revenge on its previous caretaker. Per the Pokédex, Mega Evolution, “increases its vindictiveness.” That seems precisely like many discussions I’ve had with my intense Scorpion friends. A Scorpion adores cosmic justice and comeuppance, making them the perfect pair with Mega Banette.
Sagittarius – Super Hawlucha
Each Mega Hawlucha and Sagittarians are always putting on a performance. As a Archer personally, the number of times I’ve called myself some variation of a “playful little jester” is innumerable. The showiest and most obnoxious Mega Evolution, its Pokédex entry even mentions how it “flexes to show off its power.” I would do the very same thing if I had some kind of Super Form, making Super Hawlucha the most fitting Sagittarius match I can think of.
Capricorn – Super Absol
Were you aware that a Super Absol has the power to predict disasters in advance? That exudes the identical vibe as a Capricorn, who often always think they’re correct. Interestingly, similar to a prophetic Super Absol, they often are. It’s also the absolute initial Mega Evolution that players encounter in Legends: Z-A – just like a Goat to get in on the beginning of the Super Form craze.
The Water Bearer – Super Chandelure
Detached air sign Water Bearer is arguably the non-fire sign that is closest to a flame symbol – its sister sign is the Lion, and there are numerous jokes about Sagittarius and Aquarius being unpredictable partners in crime. Mega Chandelure’s double Spirit/Flame typing fits seamlessly with this, and the Super Form's overall intimidating aura is also very Water Bearer. If you weren’t already persuaded, the Mega’s description says it “draws in hatred and transforms it into strength.” If that fails to perfectly {encaps
