This episode commenced with a single photograph, possibly the most significant ever snapped of a member of the monarchy.

There stood the Baron Killyleagh, standing closely beside a female youth, while an associate grinned knowingly in the rear.

Lacking that photograph, taken at a party in 2001, it would have been difficult to accept the claims of a adolescent who said she was transported across the sea and forced to have brief intimate contact with a prince of the monarchy?

A curious, revealing gesture by someone who had overtly stated to have not known about her, claimed he could not have had relations with her, and yet paid millions of family funds to resolve a drawn-out lawsuit.

Years of Controversy

Against this backdrop, conversations of the royal family acting firmly to cut Andrew off are inaccurate. This controversy has continued for the majority of 15 years since that photograph, and a further image of Andrew strolling congenially with a convicted sex offender surfaced.

Then there was the presumption which demanded deference when he appeared in a space or the profound consciousness about his honorifics used on his letterheads in communication to his friends.

He avoided accountability while his parent, who inexplicably spoiled him, was still alive. The Queen did at least revoke him of official roles and honorary colonelcies in the consequence of his catastrophic and, it is now clear, untruthful media appearance six years ago.

It was only in the last two weeks that events progressed rapidly, following the issuance of accounts giving more troubling particulars of his conduct and that of his associates.

Additional revelations have again exposed Andrew's assumption that he could avoid deceiving about his relationship with a convicted criminal.

People (and the press) were far more perceptive of the royal family. There was no one of any significance to defend him, a result of all those years of presumption.

Institutional Fears

The wiser royals realized that. The key objective is to pass on the monarchy, if not as heretofore at least complete and unstained.

They have spent the last 190 years trying to undo the reputation of previous monarchs, proving they are valuable, responsible and attentive to their subjects.

He was placing all that in danger in an time when respect and privacy is no longer adequate.

Consequences

Ultimately, the well-known uncertain king was pressured additional. There was no alternative. The royal household had surrendered command of the account.
