Renowned Star Pat Finn, Known For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Passes Away at 60 Years Old.

American performer Pat Finn, who featured in beloved programs such as Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has died aged 60.

The comedic improv actor died at home in Los Angeles, California this Monday after undergoing treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, as reported by reports.

"He saw everyone as a friend - solely future friends he had yet to meet," his family stated in a announcement.

They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".

A Notable Career on Screen

Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.

He also had a repeating character on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.

He played the part of Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, playing a host who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.

In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on several popular shows, like:

  • The King of Queens
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House

Finn was perhaps best known for playing Bill Norwood in "The Middle", appearing throughout eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.

His work in movies are It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".

A Life in Improv

Outside of his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was a member of a six-person improv troupe known as Beer Shark Mice.

"Finn guided, supported, and advised many learners during his career and it's nearly impossible to find someone anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

Offering condolences, peer Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," Kind wrote on social media.

Pat Finn is leaves behind his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his family.
